Why german companies are lacking behind digitization
Germany is a pioneer in many economic areas and a model for many other countries. But when it comes to digitization, Germany is clearly lagging behind in comparison with others. At Semler Company we often observe how little attention is given to digitization and how people often treat this topic with great apprehension.
While companies from other countries prepare for the future or are already ready for it, the focus in Germany is to maintain business as usual. The willingness to invest large sums, for example, in artificial intelligence is not widespread. On the one hand, this hesitation to invest is based on the fact that AI, being still highly unregulated, carries unknown risks. On the other hand, many are worried that robots will be responsible for eliminating jobs and will increase unemployment rate. The opportunities offered to us by digitization and artificial intelligence are often overlooked.
