Digital Strategy and German companies
Most major German companies are satisfied with themselves. They feel sufficiently equipped for digital change. But one question that one inevitably asks oneself when reading the results of the etventure study 2018 is: Have German companies understood what digitalization means and what its implications are?
Only 28% of the large companies surveyed see the development of new digital business as part of digitization, while most others see it solely as the automatization of existing business models and analog processes. Every fifth company sees the pressure to change its own existing business models. Only half of the companies expect a strong or very strong change in their industry. German companies are still largely desperate to maintain their existing structures and models instead of proactively addressing the challenges and seizing the resulting opportunities.
